Personalised Songs - Bestival 2008

Bestival is a medium sized music festival on the Isle Of Wight, Robin Hill. It lasts for a full weekend, Friday to Sunday. Last year it won best medium sized festival and saw the likes of Primal Scream, The Beastie Boys and The Chemical brothers. It won the year before aswell when there was The Scissor Sisters and The Pet Shop Boys.

It's best to camp at Bestival, like any other festival. But if you wanted to spend a bit more you could hire out a tipi or bivouac which are located on site. There's space for camper vans and there is B&B acommodation nearby in Newport, Ryde or Cowes.

To get to The Isle Of Wight you can catch a ferry from Southampton or Portsmouth, Red Funnel & Wightlink run there all the time.

Bestival is very children friendly, with a baby temple area for new mothers, and there is a general easy going safe ambiance about the site. The popularity of Bestival will only grow in the years to come, the more bands that play there will only attract more people. The only down side is that it is quite difficult to get to. But then I think that just makes getting there all the more worth while!

This year it is on the weekend of the 5th - 7th September. Tickets cost £130.00.
